Its hard to exaggerate the impact Gary Gygax has had on the game industry. I certainly wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for his work.
Playing Dungeons & Dragons and games like it allowed millions of people to express themselves and explore the depths of their imaginations. I have many happy memories of sunday afternoons spent on the porch with friends, a card table, and funny dice.
It’s a sad day, and the world seems a little less fun with his passing.

Well put.
I know that I owe some of my best friendships and fondest memories to the “silly” game that Gary invented.
I personnaly was given the opportunity to be guided through the game by the most imaginative, descriptive, and best dungeon master I have ever encountered. Thank you Toby. Thank you Gary.
I raised a son who was, and is, crazy about D & D. I never once allowed myself to be swayed by other parents who thought of the game as evil or cult-like. I had confidence in my son’s ability to keep a good balance between the real world and his imagination. He had great times playing D & D and made lifelong friends. I am sorry to hear of Gary Gygax’s death. He was a big part of my son’s chidhood. I can still hear them playing in the back porch. Gary is gone but will never be forgotten.
nice work, dude
